Ohio's Premier Reproductive Health Practice
IVF Shared Risk Program

The Reproductive Center now offers an IVF Partners in Risk Program to help eligible couples who have limited financial resources or those who have no insurance coverage for IVF procedures. We offer the following information to assist you in understanding our IVF Partners in Risk Program. This program was developed to help couples plan for their treatment where the fixed cost is known before starting IVF. The unpredictable clinical outcomes associated with IVF coupled with the high cost, can have a great impact on the patient’s resources, emotionally and financially. Generally, health insurance companies exclude IVF procedures as part of covered services. Our IVF Partners in Risk Program was designed to limit the patient’s financial concern if more than one IVF cycle is needed to achieve pregnancy. By defining the amount of money “at risk”, our program allows the patient to know exactly what funds will be available for pursuing other options should IVF not be successful.

Our program is offered to eligible patients as a financial opportunity for them to consider. We do not encourage patients to participate. We ask that they carefully compare the benefits of our IVF Partners in Risk Program versus traditional fee-for-service payments. Regardless of your decision and willingness to participate, the care provided will not be affected.

Defining the Program

Three (3) attempts of traditional IVF cycles and any subsequent frozen embryo replacements may be attempted over a two year period for a flat fee. If ICSI is indicated, an additional fee is required.

Once you conceive and carry a pregnancy to 8 weeks gestational age (from last menstrual period) or 6 weeks from conception, The Reproductive Center will consider your treatment completed and refer your care to an OB physician. Your gestational age and pregnancy will be verified by ultrasound. Once you are in the care of your OB physician, The Reproductive Center can no longer be responsible for your pregnancy. Any pregnancy loss before 8 weeks or tubal pregnancy diagnosed prior to that time will not be considered a success and therefore you will still be eligible to continue your attempts at IVF and/or be eligible for 50% of your refund. The fee you pay for this program is greater than you would pay for a single fee-for-service IVF cycle. Therefore, couples who successfully achieve pregnancy during the first cycle will pay more for their care. On the other hand, if you are unsuccessful, The Reproductive Center assumes the bulk of the cost. This is part of the financial risk you are sharing.
